Living in Blue Springs
Blue Springs is home turf for me. I was born and raised here, went to Blue Springs schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, and graduated from Blue Springs High. Go Wildcats! I still live here, so I know the neighborhoods, the schools, and the spots locals actually go.
It sits in eastern Jackson County right on Interstate 70, so you get a small town feel with an easy drive into KC. A lot of buyers pick this side of State Line on purpose: you usually get more house for the money, and property taxes often run lower than parts of Kansas.
This isn't just a market I cover. It's the town that raised me, and I love helping people make it home.
What people love here
- Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area: nature trails, an interactive nature center, and the limestone along Bethany Falls Trail
- Blue Springs Lake: boating, swimming, fishing, and summer afternoons by the water
- Young Park: a big playground, sports courts, walking paths, and disc golf
- Downtown Blue Springs: local businesses, restaurants, and the Fall Fun Festival every year
- Adams Dairy: shopping, restaurants, and newer neighborhoods along the parkway
Getting around
Interstate 70 and Highway 7 do most of the work. I'll be honest about Interstate 70: it's the main way into Kansas City, and traffic and construction on it are part of life out here. Independence, Lee's Summit, and Grain Valley are all close by.
Schools
Most of Blue Springs is in the Blue Springs School District, but some parts of town fall into Grain Valley or Lee's Summit. Always check the specific address before you fall in love with a house.
